Porsche Club of America  San Diego Region welcomes you!

Join us as we wrap up the fantastic 2011 season at what is for many Southern California's favorite track:  Buttonwillow Raceway Park, Saturday & Sunday, November 12 & 13.  Based upon demand during the early registration period, this event will exclusively feature Time Trial run groups (prerequisites required; see Prior Experience section on the following page).  Time Trials feature Transponder timing with times posted after each session as well as online after the event.

We will be running configuration #1 clockwise, as usual.

To register online and save up to $35, we require that you join our group here on MotorsportReg.com.  Regardless of which region of PCA you belong to or if you don't belong to PCA at all, you must join the SDR group on this web site.  This will be done as a step in the registration process.  Non-Porsches that meet our rules are welcome!!!

Taste of the Track:  If you'd like to experience the thrill of a Time Trial without actually taking the wheel you may sign up for our Taste of the Track program.  For $100 you will receive all communications that our drivers receive, participate in all drivers meetings, and ride along in the passenger seat of one of our skilled Instructor's cars all weekend.  In short, you'll receive the same experience as one of our Students without actually driving.  To register for Taste of the Track simply sign up as if you were a Student participating in the event but in the Notes to the Registrar section enter "Taste of the Track".  Prior to your card actually being charged, your total due will be adjusted to $100.

Event Hotel:  The event hotel for our Buttonwillow weekend the Buttonwillow Motel 6 Central at 20645 Tracy Ave, Buttonwillow, CA  93206 (note for those who haven't been to Buttonwillow in a while:  this is our usual hotel, briefly known as the Red Roof Inn previously, and the Willow Inn & Suites before that).  $45.99 single or double and you must mention the Porsche Club/Jack Miller room block when you phone.  Rate and room block expire November 4 or when sold out, whichever comes first.  Reservations may be made by calling (661) 764-5121.  If the hotel is full there are several other lodging establishments at the Buttonwillow exit.  Check Google Maps for locations.  Or, if you prefer potentially more luxurious accommodations you may wish to consider the Best Western Heritage Inn, 253 Trask St, Bakersfield, CA  93314, (661) 764-6268.  The Inn is 5 miles south of the event hotel and nearly twice the price, but we have it on good authority that it is a star or two better in quality.  It is suggested that you ignore the hotels.com link to the right of this page and contact your preferred hotel directly.

Camping at the Track:  Camping at the track is available.  The track has electrical and water hook-ups only.  There are two potential costs, $40 payable to PCA to cover 24 hour security/in-out regardless of where you camp at the track, and potentially a second charge payable to the track if a pad is rented.  You MUST call the track on your own to reserve a pad.  The track will then charge you separately in addition to the amount PCA charges.

Late Registration:  You must register by 11:59 pm PDT October 28 to receive the discounted online rate; after that a $25 late fee applies through November 7.  Online registration closes at 11:59 pm PST November 7, after which significantly higher on-site registration fees apply.  If unable to register online, you may register by faxing in the standard form available in the Windblown Witness or on the pcasdr.net website (higher fees apply).

Payment:  You MUST use a credit card to pay if registering online, VISA or MasterCard only.  For complete event pricing details proceed with registration steps.  You will have a chance to confirm after you make your selections.  Card billed AFTER the event.

Note:  Your account can only be used to register yourself!  Every entrant, including a co-driver, needs their own MotorsportReg.com account.

If you have a question about this event, please contact the Registrar at:  preregAway@pcasdr.org.

Event requirements

Prior Experience:  Time Trial participants without a Zone 8 Competition Permit (or approved equivalent) must have completed at least 8 Autocross and/or DE and/or Driving School days or equivalent over the past 6 to 24 months.  In addtional, all participants must be a minimum age of 18 years, have a valid state driver license, and be in good mental and physical health.

Also please note that an approved helmet is required and that SNELL 2000 helmets are no longer acceptable.  Please contact the Registrar for information on helmet rental if needed.  Experienced drivers new to SDR events may also be required to have an Instructor until their competency has been demonstrated.

Pre-tech is Strongly Encouraged!  Please try to take your car in for service and have it thoroughly inspected prior to this event.  With two full days of our high track time event in central California, you will want to be safe and have your car make it through the weekend.  Plus you'll want to be certain that, before you leave for the track, you and your car have any required safety equipment (Stock and Street Stock coupes generally need no additional safety equipment, but see the Rules link below to be sure that you qualify).  All entrants pre-teching must present a Tech Inspection Form with name, address, phone, car, class, etc. to a qualified tech inspection shop.  The form can be found at:  http://pcasdr.net/pcasdr/forms/AXRegForm.pdfThe Tech Inspection Form has changed for 2011.  Please download the new form using the link above.  Do not use the old form.  Cars inspected by shops not personally known to the Registrar are subject to random on-site re-inspection.

PCA Zone 8 Driving Rules can be found here:  http://zone8.pca.org/rules/2011/2011Z8Rules.pdf.

If there are any changes to your registration data after the online registration deadline, you need to notify the Registrar by the day of the event BEFORE the first run session.

All entrants and guests shall be required to sign the PCA waiver upon registering at the track.  This is in addition to any waiver that the track itself may require you to sign.  You are responsible for your guests and may be asked to leave the event if your guests are found to have not signed the PCA waiver.

The track may charge its own separate nominal entrance fee.  This fee does not go to PCA and is beyond our control.

Transponders:  If you have an AMB Transponder, be sure you've entered the number under "My Account."  (Hint:  you do this where you edit your vehicle information.)  If you don't have a Transponder, they are available for rent and you must have a Transponder to drive in the Time Trial.
