Porsche Club of America  Zone 8 welcomes you!

The 12th Annual California Festival of Speed comes to Auto Club Speedway April 5, 6, and 7, 2013!  This registration site is for Time Trial registration and Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy USA West incidental (dinners, clothing, parking, etc.) registration.  The Time Trial this year welcomes POC participation for points alongside PCA and features timed practice sessions on the roval all three days, with "qualifying-style" official timed runs on Sunday afternoon.

Roval

This event also features a Club RaceComplete registration for the Club Race, including Time Trial Timed Runs for Club Racers only, is at a different site:  http://www.ClubRegistration.net.  If you aren't sure of the difference between a Time Trial and a Club Race, please contact the Registrar prior to signing up so we can help you register for the proper event on the proper system.

To register online for the Time Trial practice sessions and Timed Runs we require that you join our group here on MotorsportReg.com.  Regardless of which region of PCA you belong to or if you don't belong to PCA at all, you must join the PCA - Zone 8 group on this web site (note:  this just means adding PCA - Zone 8 to your list of Clubs on MotorsportReg; it does not make you a member of PCA).  This will be done as a step in the registration process.  Non-Porsches that meet our rules are welcome!!!

TIME TRIAL REGISTRATION PRIORITY:  February 18 registration is only available to previously credentialed PCA (Zone 8 Solo Permit or Club Racing License) or POC (Time Trial or Cup Race License) drivers.  Beginning February 19 at 9:00 am, any remaining spots will be made available to Students that have previously commenced the credentialing process (e.g., PCA drivers with an existing Zone 8 Student Log Book).  Beginning February 20 at 9:00 am, any remaining spots will be made available to undocumented Students that meet the PCA Zone 8 Rules for Novice entry.

Event Hotel:  Hilton Garden Inn Rancho Cucamonga, CA  92201, (909) 481-1800.  Ask for the PCA rate:  $82 per night until March 25.  Call directly.  This rate is not available on ANY website or via ANY other phone number, including the travelnow.com or Expedia links to the right.

Camping at the Track:  You may camp at the track.  The cost is $40 per night and covers 24 hour security/in-out privileges and restrooms with showers, as well as electrical and water hookups.  Check the camping option when you register.

Parking:   We are assigning parking for garages, big-rig parking and large group (>6 cars) parking.  If you have one of these, let us know when you register.

Fuel:  Various grades of fuel will be available at the track, some by advanced order.  Look for an e-mail regarding fuel after you've registered, sometime in March.

Food:  Concession stands will be open and maintained by the track throughout the weekend during the day.  A BBQ dinner Saturday night is available when you register.

Pets:  No animals of any kind are allowed on the Speedway’s property.

Payment:  You may use a credit card to pay if registering online, VISA, MasterCard or Discover only, though checks are preferred.  For complete event pricing details proceed with registration steps.  You will have a chance to confirm after you make your selections.  Note that late fees apply beginning March 1 and VERY significant last minute fees apply beginning April 1.

Event requirements

Prior Experience:  Time Trial participants without a PCA Zone 8 Solo Permit or Club Racing License, or a POC Time Trial or Cup Race License (or approved equivalent) must have completed at least 8 Autocross and/or DE and/or Driving School days or equivalent over the past 24 months, will be considered a Student, and will be issued a Zone 8 Student Log Book ($10).  POC Time Trial or Cup Race License holders will be reciprocally granted a PCA Zone 8 Solo Permit ($10) at the time they register online (please check the Zone 8 Documentation option – no action with respect to licensing need be taken by licensed POC drivers prior to registering).  Drivers who have not driven at prior Festivals or at any prior PCA-SDR driving events please e-mail a list of your past performance driving events covering a 2 year period, with dates, type of event, and name of sponsoring organization to the Registrar at TTRegistrar@CalFestival.org.  All drivers with a Zone 8 Student Log Book will be required to have an Instructor.

You must classify your car using the 2013 Zone 8 Rules before you go on to register for this event.  Fortunately there's an online tool to help you do that.  Go to http://zone8.pca.org/CarClass/Default.aspx now and enter info about your car.  You need to do this BEFORE you click Continue below and begin to register as you are required to input your class as part of the registration process.  All cars need to do this, including X class cars, as safety equipment requirements are determined based upon Performance Equipment points which are calculated as part of the online tool.  The ability for the online tool to calculate Performance Equipment points for non-Porsches is still under development.  Cars running in X class may use this spreadsheet to determine Performance Equipment Points:  http://zone8.pca.org/forms/2013/DE_TTSafetyEquipCalculator.xlsxEven if you had previously determined and entered your class in 2012 and have made no changes to your car you must revisit the above website and click through the edit process in order for the tool to recalculate properly.  Note the resulting point totals and class and enter them when you register.  If you register without doing the above your registration will not be considered complete and you will be placed On Hold.  If you do not complete the above until after a price increase has occurred you will be required to pay the higher price.

Pre-tech is Strongly Encouraged!  Please try to take your car in for service and have it thoroughly inspected between March 20 and April 2 and after your last event prior to the Festival.  With three days at this world-class facility, you will want to be safe and have your car make it through the long weekend.  Plus you'll want to be certain that, before you leave for the track, you and your car have any required safety equipment (Stock and Street Stock coupes generally need no additional safety equipment, but see the Rules link below to be sure that your car qualifies).  All entrants pre-teching must present a Festival Tech Inspection Form with name, address, phone, car, Zone 8 class, Performance Equipment points, etc. to a qualified tech inspection shop.  The form can be found at:  http://www.CalFestival.orgYou must use the special 2013 Festival of Speed Tech Inspection Form and you must fill in all info about yourself and your car class prior to inspection.  Please download the form using the link above.  Do not use any other form as it will not be accepted and you will need to re-tech at the track.  At the same site are instructions for having a tech fill out their portion of the form.  Be sure to provide these instructions to your tech.  Incorrectly filled out forms will require reinspection at the track.  Once you have completed pre-tech, fax page 1 only of your tech form to 619-287-6591 (no cover please) and bring the original with you to the track when you register on-site (put it in your glove box when complete so you don't forget it).  Cars inspected by shops not personally known to the Registrar are subject to random on-site re-inspection.

This is a Zone 8 event and runs under PCA Zone 8 Driving Rules for 2013 which can be found here:  http://zone8.pca.org/rules/2013/2013Z8Rules.pdf.

If there are any changes to your registration data after the online registration deadline, you need to notify the Registrar at TTRegistrar@CalFestival.org by the Tuesday prior to the event.

All entrants and guests shall be required to sign the PCA waiver upon registering at the track.  You will not be admitted to the infield unless and until you and all your guests sign.  You are responsible for your guests.

Transponders:  If you have an AMB Transponder, be sure you've entered the number under "My Account; Edit Vehicles".  If you don't have a Transponder, they are available for rent  (limited availability) and you must have a Transponder to drive in the Time Trial.  Non-renters with missing Transponder numbers will be considered incomplete registrations and will not have secured a spot in the order registered until the number has been received and acknowledged via e-mail.  Enter your number now under "My Account" before you register!
